From Columbia to hospital-based practice.
Dr. Advani's path into implant surgery wasn't accidental. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Hartford, earning a dual degree — Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry — with highest honors. The deliberate decision to pursue both life sciences in parallel reflected a deeper interest in the molecular and biological foundations of medicine. From there, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Columbia University — one of the most rigorous Ivy League dental programs in the country.
From there, he made a deliberate choice that shapes every patient experience today: rather than building a generic family-dentistry practice, he focused obsessively on implant surgery and IV sedation. Over fifteen years of practice and more than 1,000 hours of advanced international continuing education, he developed the technical skill set to handle the cases other dentists refer out — pterygoid implants, trans-sinus placement, palatal-approach surgery, nasopalatine canal anchorage, and FP1 reconstruction with biological tissue preservation.
The decision to practice within Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center reinforced what makes the Institute different. Hospital affiliation isn't a marketing line — it's the credibility of being chosen to operate in a major medical setting, the safety of having medical infrastructure on the same floor, and the trust patients feel walking through the same doors as cardiologists and orthopedic surgeons they already know.
Today, Dr. Advani spends his clinical hours performing the procedures patients travel from across the Midwest to receive — and his teaching hours sharing those techniques with dentists nationally through the Advani Implant Institute.
